So you're saying just to stay away from Walmart than Sam's Club???!!!!! You're contradicting yourself.
The Queen and Prince of Wales pay income tax (but doesn't get a salary from the government); the Queen performs all the functions of a ceremonial president like most parliamentary systems have; the monarchy pays much, much more than it takes. What's more, she's outwardly politically neutral which is more appropriate for a unifying symbol of the nation than some politician put in by parliament as a political football, or even an elected . Plus her renown around the world arguably makes our diplomacy more effective; PR stunts like state visits are so much better for the other country when the fame of the head of state who is arriving is added to the mix; it's much more likely to make the headlines there and thus help the leader of the country. I'm sure Napolitano, Patil and Kohler do good jobs, but they're virtually unknown outside their own borders.Besides, the question may be about the 'need of a monarchy' for republics, but the thing is a positive argument must be made in favour of change. The question for us who live in constitutional monarchies is about the 'need of a president'. The answer to that is less clear cut. A presidential system would not be well-received here; there's enough anxiety about a presidential prime minister without having a real US-style president. A ceremonial president would just do the same job as the Queen except it would be a partisan politician doing it for money. A French-style president is a possibility, but that system is comparatively new and comparatively few compared to the others; I don't know how it reacts to different political cultures.

“To be honest, a lot of the web standards they don't support so well they either started or had a feature that did the same thing already (@font-face, XMLHttpRequest, VML, CSS 2D positioning, Ajax, etc).I'm not trying to justify how slow Microsoft is (or how proprietary they are), but it's a little messed up that they don't get some credit here. Historically it's repeatedly been, Microsoft creating it or doing it first, then Netscape, the W3C, Mozilla, Apple, Google or Opera taking it and improving it.Even down to the desktop shortcut feature that Chrome has, Safari was supposed to get and Mozilla is working on, is and has been featured in IE for a while. Yes, IE6 sucks, but man it's way better than having to deal with Netscape or IE4-5 back then.

It's quite the amazing game. I'd get it whenever you can. It's what L4D should have been..
I hate when 3D is used as a marketing gimmick and most of the time makes the movie look bad. The only exception I have seen to this is Pixar's Up. The 3D in the movie added depth to the scenes rather than having stuff pop out at you like most 3D movies.!

Al Gore and John Kerry, need I say more? The democrats share the blame for that catastrophe.

If Stamkos keeps up this pace, he'll definitely make it hard for Yzerman and co. to leave him off the team - there's just too much talent though - some awful good players will be left off.

1. They don't MAKE you upgrade. IE look at all the XP computers everywhere while we're talking about Win8.2. Periodic updates are a fact of life. If they released one version and stopped, they might as well shut down the business and say what they have is 'good enough'.3. I don't 'suffer' as a result of updating my OS once in a while anymore than I 'suffer' when I have to get my transmission fluid changed every few years or buy new tires.4. Profit goes into R&D on the next system. It's not cheap paying that many highly skilled employees to support a current system and develop a new one. |
