| I welcome a new web browser, but I don't put a lot of faith in MS's attempts. Even today, on Windows XP, any version of IE locks up after opening a certain number of windows/tabs. This happens on almost all of our corporate and home machines - for any developer when IE can't even open a web page (you know, what its designed to do), it's time to use something else. I suspect a deadlock problem with one of the service packs that came out. No my machine is not ***** up, I'm talking 30+ machines here.I don't hate IE cause it's bad at rendering, I hate IE because MS can't code the basic stuff to work. Like how the windows explorer hangs with mapped drives that can't be contacted or cd drives that are in mid-read? For people that are supposed to teach us about seperating UI code from implementation code, they do a bad job of it even on core pieces of Windows. |

From the report (page 28):"China also continues to expand its capability to wage cyber warfareagainst other nations, to employ more sophisticated methodsof espionage, and to increase its ability to obtain military technologysurreptitiously from Europe and the United States. China’sespionage activities in 2009 continued to evolve into a more targetedcollection effort for specific information, much of it directedat obtaining specific western technologies useful in developing advancedweapons.Cyber intrusions, including the exfiltration of large amounts ofinformation, particularly data from America’s largest defense contractors, were on the rise in 2009. Anecdotal and forensic evidencestrongly implicates the Chinese government in many of the activities, either directly or through third-party surrogates sponsored byBeijing. Malicious activities directed against Defense Departmentcomputers in 2009 were running at a rate of 240 every day, costingas much as $200 million to repair the damage."Not that it completely answers your question, but I think it gives a clear idea of what they're up to.
I know a LOT of people with modded consoles. I mean in the hundreds. Most people are just gonna go out and buy a new onedo the math.the last time there was a ban wave like this was back in nov of 2007. so the majority of the people back then got banned and bought new consoles. Now all those people got banned again. and what are they going to do? Buy new consoles. in their eyes it just doesnt matter because they save a lot of money on games. Some people play every game thats even worth mentioning. so thats more than a $1000 on games per year. How much is a new console? $200so in the end does it stop people from pirating? No but it does prevent those on the fences from modding their consoles :)

“I do not know why you got Dugg Down. The client is awesome. But it's not worth $2B, in this economy based on it's potential. Fix the shortcomings that prevent stronger revenue from coming in and then we'll talk multi-billion.

The first fast food restaurant I worked at as a teenager growing up in Indiana sold these. People came for the fried chicken, but they usually picked up a side of chicken gizzards/livers/hearts and bull balls as well. I thought they were pretty good, myself..

They love their Xbox live, I'll tell you that much, and typically get a console for Live and one for piracy...so you can't keep them all away

Indian IT companies get paid in USD and they pay their employees in Indian Rupees.when Indian Rupee grew stronger (1USD ~ Rs.32 as compared to current Rs. 48) the IT companies lost their profit, as they were getting less Rupees to spend for every USD earned.Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had to intervene by buy large sums of USD to curb the Rupee growth thus saving the Indian IT industry. |
