| I agree with instituting television replays. But how is it going to be done? Will it be instant or after the game....instant may slow the play down, and we certainly do not want football to end up like american sports. After the game might be looked at as unfair. But it certainly is time for Fifa to get ontrack with the rest of the sporting world.....of course Fifa operates like a cartel, maybe they wanted it this way. I cant see how the officials could miss 2 men being offside and the blatant handle ball!! |

I live in China at the moment.#2 is right on - there are way too many people working everywhere. Sometimes we'll go to a restaurant that is just a little on the fancy side and there'll be maybe 5-6 beautiful women in dresses just inside the doors waiting to greet us. That's their whole job. And we're talking about a place that maybe costs 40-100 yuan ($6-15) per person.#3 isn't so right for me because I live in a "small town" of around 500,000 people. We don't even have a genuine Wal-mart - we have a facsimile called RT Mart. I have been to two Wal-marts in China and they are both fairly similar to the RT Mart, except one of them was a 2-floor store and had an escalators with merchandise bins between the UP and DOWN escalator. So you see, maybe, Q-Tips and you think, oh yeah! and you grab them. It's like the End Cap concept on steroids.#4 plays in with #3. Many people make the space feel smaller. In fact, my store isn't particularly cramped. Some of the other stores in town (which few people go to anymore and are somewhat akin to the IGA in the US for the convenience factor) are more cramped, but still nothing to write home about.#5 is flat wrong. There are bags, but they are hidden away under the register and most Chinese don't get them because they cost 1-2 jiao (2 jiao = 0.2 yuan = $0.03) each. That doesn't seem like much and it really isn't, but Chinese go shopping frequently (some, every day), and 1000-2000 yuan ($150-300) per month is not a bad salary here (in my town). Anecdotal evidence is that the professors at my college earn 3000 yuan per month and work A LOT. But that's a lot of money here - with all my western proclivities, I still spend less than 3000 yuan per month.
Since it's the time of year to post Batman stuff that everyone's seen but is still kind of funny:http://imgur.com/TkQ2k.gif

Buried for false title: should be "Top 10: Most Intimidating Stadiums in North America"..
While I'm annoyed the morning edition of Digg is turning into a read of Conservapedia, this article does make some valid points. We should be appoint legitimate, qualified people for these positions. If we aren't going to appoint legitimate people, we should just not have ambassadors or consulates or embassies. When done correctly, the diplomacy and cooperation these tools facilitate can be very helpful. We need to start using them intelligently. While Bush didn't do any better, I'm tired of that being used as defense for Obama. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Obama, but our party could have done better. And no, I don't mean Hillary. But then, most of the Democratic party is a bunch of spineless retards that aren't really any different from Republicans, so I'm not sure why I called it "our party."!

ROTFLOL. So they get lots of cheap oil from Venezuela, then refine it into gasoline and jet fuel and sell those for profit. The result: Nobody else has any oil left.Gotta love how the communists are all about keeping things economically equal, eh?

It's not that crazy. Skype have revenues of $551 million in 2008 and has revenue of $500 million for the 1st 3 quarters of 2009. Their net income has risen steadily for every quarter since the ebay merger. Their expected revenue in 2011 is $1 billion. Valuing it at 2.75B is not that absurd. |
