Yea, how can it be a hoax when it wasnt meant as a terrorist device in the first place? "They have a lot of explaining to do"...for what? People overreacting to a joke? You would think bostonians would be more used to graffiti and marketing campaigns like this.
This is exactly the reason the US government needs to take over the internet, even shut it down. It's for your own good! Oh please Congress, hurry and put that bill through from Senator Rockefeller so I can sleep at night./sarcasm/

L4D2 was definitely worth the money, especially if you hadn't bought the first. I still think the people who got L4D1 at release for 50 bucks lost out though, and I think that's what a lot of the boycott was about, not whether or not L4D2 was actually going to be worth the money. I think people bought L4D1 for full price, even though it was a bit light in content, because they trusted valve based upon their previous reputation with TF2 and the Half-Life series of games adding content value after the fact. If the game isn't up to snuff for $50, valve has always made it good down the road, and often they've done it in spades so it's a safe buy. Plus, early interviews with Valve employees on L4D1 said pretty similar things, so people bought on trust. I can see why they would be a bit miffed. (remember tf2 included 6 maps at launch)That said, L4D2 is worth it's price right up front, but I expect valve will indeed add content to it and make it even better. I bought l4d2 in the four pack, and so overall have about $33 invested per game, a fair price for both..
SofaKid, you're not necessarily screwed if your connection is intermittent, or you face downtime. Even for web design or scripting, you can get your work done on a localhost. Graphics, word processing, spreadsheets, all that is done offline... You only need the connection back to transfer finished product.!

As cruel as it sounds, we need to let the world population shrink a little bit.
