@mrsteveman1 >> "You think you're the target market for Chrome OS? Or even an average user?Nope...but even an average user is used to saving files to a hard drive. It's one thing to switch to an alternative OS... it's another thing to switch to a cloud-based OS.A ChromeOS netbook would be great for browsing the web. But, like I said, you can do so much more with a local OS.Even if the average user only uses their current netbook to browse the web... why limit them to only that? I know lots of people who carry a netbook for travel, and dump their memory cards onto it. Nowadays, that's not an unusual activity.Peek : email :: ChromeOS : webYes, the web is a lot of things... but it can't deliver an entire computing experience.

Being watched as a terrorist when you're a peaceful protester seems like an abuse of power. I'm all for using the cameras to watch for suspected people, but when you're making nearly anyone a suspect, it's a bit much. They should create some kind of criteria of what a suspect is - though that would probably get hazy rather quickly too. I'm not sure how I feel about this, I like that they're using the cameras to watch for suspects, but I don't like that pretty much anyone can become a suspect - even those who aren't really causing trouble. Peaceful protests now, all free opinion later? Where are the limits? |
