I know the person who only focuses on themselves IS doomed to torment..
this is why they're 'experts' and not 'apple employees.'!

Did you send an email??
I used to be part of this club, then I cut the cord on tech support. It was simply depressing. Any time a client calls you they are having the worst day of their life and need you then and there, because somehow their entire past and future lies with whatever is malfunctioning. As a web application developer, of the highest caliber anyway, people are only ever happy to see you and clap excitedly at anything you have to show them. |

Technology is advancing at a much faster rate? How so? I see more of a trend towards taking the same technology and putting it in a smaller package, such as netbooks. Unsurprisingly, many of them still come with XP installed. I think this is where Microsoft really got it wrong with Vista. They seemed to have the expectation that hardware would have advanced so much that the performance hit wouldn't matter, but it DID matter.I'm also seeing a lot more longevity out of hardware. An old 2-3ghz machine is still quite usable for most business tasks, especially if you bump up the RAM. I remember upgrading PCs around offices yearly because the performance gains were so huge. Not so anymore.

The indifference SHOULD be the proper response. If you just saw a guy cap another in the back of the head, the last thing you want to do is draw attention to yourself. If he just did that to someone else in broad daylight, imagine what he'd do to you if he thought you were a risk.
