| FTA: "Along with Public Knowledge, the movie studios, internet providers, electronics companies and lawyers for the recording industry have been given access to the text of the treaty that has not finalized. We’ve asked many of them to provide details, but confidentiality agreements with the Obama administration forbid that." Confidentiality agreements? Is that common? I've never heard of the use of confidentiality agreements for treaties with any other previous administration. |

We would go insane if we didn't filter it out to some degree. We simply have to disconnect in order to function, otherwise we would be emotional wrecks. In that sense, it's probably good that you aren't too traumatized by these terrible things.
Heeeey now, King of Queens is a good show. Obviously not all that clever, but enjoyable nonetheless. And I agree, Simpsons used to be my favourite show, but it has gone way downhill. I don't even watch it anymore, and I used to look forward the new episode every week. Shame.

a/b) Well, we're still dead for eternity, which kind of outweighs the 82-87 years. But that doesn't matter, I was simply trying to point out the ridiculousness of your statement that living means you are pro-life, since 'pro-life' has been corrupted to mean something completely different. Obviously you missed the satire.c) Do you think that people who break their leg shouldn't have a cast because they need to 'own up' to trying to do a wicked kick-flip? Our entire society is about fixing mistakes and trying to be better, not simply saying "well, I screwed up, too bad". And what about people who had sex, but were safe, took every precaution and got pregnant anyway? What lesson are they supposed to learn there? And you really think any child will grow up in a good home when, you even admit, they will be looked at as a 'consequence', rather than something wanted and loved? Possible, but unlikely. |
