It's rather simple. It's true of most industry in this country. The large telecom companies won't push broadband into areas they can't make at least 30% profit from. It took government intervention to get rural electrification in the 1930s. And since most people who have access to broadband only can get it from one provider, the issue of lack of competition is huge. Even where there is competition, prices seem set with 5mb/s going for roughly $50/month. Ever since the government relinquished control of the Internet back in the early 90s, they have really stayed away from regulating it. As a result, we have one of the lowest broadband penetration, the lowest broadband bandwidth and the highest costs of any industrialized country. Leaving it to totally the private sector has not gotten us very far. If we want to be better than 20th, it's going to take government intervention.

"can we not detach southern pride from racism? Is it really that hard?"what the hell do you think "the south will rise again" means?what other universities are shouting in favor of the confederacy, rather than the union?and if you're shouting that without knowing what it means, then thank god somebody finally gave you pause to consider what the heck you were saying."It’s like booing. You can’t boo a coach without the kids hearing it. You can’t boo and say “but this isn’t about you!” And you can’t chant “The South will rise again” without it being heard by a whole lot of Southerners who’d be in a much worse place in society if that South came back. They’re called black people."http://sportsbybrooks.com/the-south-will-rise-agai ...there's a reason the klan is all about this issue, y'all..
Set it in 90s Moscow.!

The new season's episodes just get better everytime. Pure genius.?
i highly doubt every climatologist in the world is colluding for the sake of politics. regardless of whether this is legit (doubt it, but who cares) it doesn't change the fact that we should be switching to renewable energy.

Well if one actually looks and finds the ruins of the Viking civilizations that were killed off during the little ice age that Al Gore inconveniently deleted from his movie the theory would have been dead as darwin years ago. I doubt this will stop the marketing of BAD BAD INDUSTRIAL HUMANS to the children in our school any more then the fact that polar bear numbers have been on the increase since the 50's or the fact that global temps have been on the decline for the last eleven years... O wait... Global warming is going to bring on a new ice age... or a drought... or expanding desert conditions...or more hurricanes... or less hurricanes... or shouldn't we have been dead by now from something? The bulls*** has too many bases covered to go down easy. The media will continue to push this as though nothing has happened.
