I've seen the giant baby head in the National Art Gallery of Canada. I was completely shocked when I saw it. Amazing.
Don, please tell me you're kidding

“Your post is absolutely wrong. Teeth are quite a late defense mechanism for cats. After their claws have failed. They also use their claws to climb trees to escape danger, not just to ward off attackers. I've yet to see a cat use their teeth and hind legs to get up a tree, but I suppose it could happen. And arguing that the knuckle isn't fully attached, so this is somehow less inhumane? Give me a ***** break. You're condemning the cat to walk around with nubs for the rest of their life.Of course, the safest place for your cat to be is inside only. Inside-outside or outside cats are pretty much all doomed to one of two eventual fates: predators or being hit by a car. But even inside cats will escape from their prisons sometime, and it's best they have all of their faculties available in the outside world. If you're having problems with them attacking your furniture, there are some really easy solutions: double stick tape, buy them a real scratching post, etc, etc.

I hate to be the wet blanket, but this is the first filibuster round. This was a vote to begin debate. The true test is the vote to end debate, or "cloture," which is where the real filibuster would happen. If we get through that, it's just 50 votes + Biden needed..
Digg is pretty libertarian. Libertarians tend to hate whiners, because they worship the idea of pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. As such, libertarians like feminism (the idea that women should act as equals) but hate feminists (which practice the same grievance-mongering as any other group that claims to represent a persecuted minority).!

Endangered sushi? He must have used the special ordering techniques detailed in this video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b75cl4-qRE&fmt ...?
No, a tip is a tip. If it is to be mandatory, it should not be called a tip, and should be above the line on the bill. |

Cracked always comes up with very perceptive analyses, but never something like this.We don't examine and think about our daily cultural on a deep enough level to become aware of these trends, tropes, and patterns. Authors don't realize that, for instance, when they write Harry Potter, they've created a cult of superior ueber-menschen with superhuman abilities. Children idealize these characters, and even adults: but they don't understand, themselves, why.The fact that these films are so popular and well-received and accepted tells us not about women's taste in films, but about our culture's way of raising young girls to be receptive to these malformed concepts of femininity. This article is more frightening than it is funny.

The theory is *how* it happens, not whether it happens. When people say "The Theory of Evolution," they're leaving off the "by Natural Selection" part. Evolution itself is an observed and tested fact. The theory is science's most plausible explanation of that fact. Scientists have been working on and refining the theory for roughly 150 years, so what we have today is pretty darn solid. I.e., at this point the theory will never be completely disproven, the way you're suggesting, only tweaked and refined.Sorry to have to break it to you like this man. |
