What's the most terrifying is that idiots seem to be thrilled at the prospect of public distrust of the peer review process.
This is a great point. Glass is expensive. Even the stock lens is 24-105 f4 and costs around $1000. It's pretty slow, so it tosses aside a lot of the DOF you get from having a 'wide open' lens AND a lot of the low-light awesomeness.I just bought the 5D body alone, and supplemented it with a 20, 50, and 85mm f1.8 set of primes. Got my cinema set for under a grand. Not TOO bad, and really sharp around f2.2.

AHHHHHHH, 45 Superman, If I didn't have you on my friends list and followed one of your posts, I too would have never had the chance to see the wonderful post by Time Continuum.I thank you both for I am laughing my ass off. Totally didn't expect that.Noventator, I don't know why, but sometimes I like you. But I must tell you one thing for an absolute ***** cosmic certainty. I AM NOT ANTI SCIENCE! Why do you think that people who disagree with AGW are? Isn't that what discovery is all about? CONTRAST?.
Of course it isn't well-founded, but it's what they teach. A carpenter coming back from the dead then rising to heaven 3 days later isn't well founded either.!

Indeed, if not for modern medicine and condoms, these people would be dominating the rest of us through natural selection. Speaking of which, remember that the HIV came over to us from SIV (from chimps or Sooty Mangabeys, depending on what strain and who you're talking to), and neither is usually lethal in those populations. Granted the virus had to pull some crazy ***** to make the leap over to us and may have become more virulent in the process, but it is possible that it was initially quite lethal to them as well and those with resistance came to dominate in the modern population.
