“One of my favorite things about the game world in general is going back to my collection and playing older titles that I loved but no one else seems to remember. American McGee's Alice, for example -- people still remember it because of the title, but few remember that it also had some of the best level design in PC Gaming history, for its time, and that it remains a fun and creative title today.I'm always bummed when I reach a point where game X won't run on modern OS's anymore and I have to jump through hoops if I want to play it.

Indeed, if not for modern medicine and condoms, these people would be dominating the rest of us through natural selection. Speaking of which, remember that the HIV came over to us from SIV (from chimps or Sooty Mangabeys, depending on what strain and who you're talking to), and neither is usually lethal in those populations. Granted the virus had to pull some crazy ***** to make the leap over to us and may have become more virulent in the process, but it is possible that it was initially quite lethal to them as well and those with resistance came to dominate in the modern population.?
How To Feed The World:1) Decrease the human population down to a level sustainable by the planet.2) Stop humans from committing the atrocity of war as well as generally killing and hating one another. This would open up transportation routes for sharing food. Astonishingly, this would also decrease the incentive for humans to become baby machines.3) Grow food using sustainable techniques that are safe for the planet, as opposed to the BS 'Green Revolution' methods that have destroyed cropland and lives for decades. It sure would be nice if this would happen. Will it? If we will it. Sadly, we have politicians and biznizzes incentivizing doing things exactly the wrong way for short term profit and long term harm. |

Women in Tarantino movies are only able to rise above the men by becoming Men and abandoning their femininity. That's probably not the best way of explaining it, but if you pick him as an example of a film-maker who respects women and provides vehicles for women to see themselves as they ought to be.... well you're very confused.Women do not achieve self-realisation by being just as good as men as being a man. That's just as ***** up as being the submissive helpless sex-puppet that female characters usually are. They are still defining themselves as components of a man's fantasy reality.I'm trying to think of film or TV characters to *do* portray women as real people but I can't think of any. Perhaps Buffy in the second half of the TV series lifespan.

I don't know why people are so obsessed with her. The republican party is at least smart enough not to pick her as their candidate in 2012, she's not really directly IN politics anymore, and quite frankly only a small portion of her target market even consider her worth their time.

Of course they're not willing to admit it. What those e-mails say to me is that they are hopelessly deluded. Or worse than that: they desperately *want* their theories to be true--so badly that they are willing to falsify data, withhold it from other scientists, or even destroy it in order to keep it out of what they so pathetically call "the wrong hands." Such conduct "warrants excommunication from the community of scientists," as Yale College routinely and sternly said to their entering students in 1976, the year of my own matriculation at Yale.

This is Politico, not World Net Daily or Fox News or Huffpo. It's a pretty credible source. |
