The government is the end result of social cooperation. When a social problem exists, the government is the only structure able to act on behalf of society as a whole. That is where your supposedly evil reliance on government comes from - it is the reliance on our society as a whole, something we do every day. We rely on each other to uphold the social contract, without it we would be in a savage land. As long as you enjoy living in a civilized land, you have to pay the costs of that privilege.?
I'm taking algebra in college for the third time. It is not one of my basic instincts. |

That is part of the reason why Indians are going to have your job in a few years if they haven't already.

This could be kind of cool with Augmented Reality, although you would want some way to differentiate between pointless personal tweets and some kind of public information tweets, like the locations of buildings and such.

How many times will they change a word that has negative connotations before they realize you can't outrun the euphemism treadmill? The phrase "mentally retarded" was picked because, at the time, it was neutral. If you want meaningful change you won't reach it playing word games. If they want meaningful change they will have to change the way people feel about people who are different from themselves. Good luck with that because people seem to be predisposed to fragment into groups and look down on people outside their group. |
