I said this on another thread and some rabid greenies called me a tool of big oil and a wacko, but here's my two cents. These emails are VERY troubling and by some of the hysteria and insult (from the greenies) on the thread, I'm just going to assume some ***** has indeed hit the wind turbine. We have been fed doom and gloom for a decade. Maybe more. The oceans will boil! Species are going extinct! Gas is evil! There's nothing wrong with taking care of the environment in the ways you can. But it, of late, has gotten waaaaay out of hand. All of the overly dire pronouncements for the future of the planet have made my ears bleed. For one thing, why are we all going to have to use the damn nastily bluey-bright screw lightbulbs? If they break, it is hazmat. They contain dangerous materials? Why should everyone be forced to move to these? They are going to wind up in the landfill. You can say how they "should" be handled, but when they go out, people are going to throw them into the garbage. It seems like pollution to me.Carol Browner is Obama's "Climate Czar" this woman was a member of Socialist International and has made statements saying that our situation is so dire, it will be great when there's a way for the government to CONTROL the amount of energy you consume. You need it warmer in the winter? Too bad...government says 69 degrees is warm ENOUGH! No warm for you! This isn't conspiracy theory, this is FACT.It's to save almighty Gaia after all. We have to control people's use of energy.Common sense is great, but considering Browner's statements and her past....ISN'T this green....maybe JUST a little RED inside? The biggest tragedy is taking place in schools...where kids are being fed the "doomed planet curriculum" and these little bitty people are absolutely FREAKED OUT by the fear generated by the green coalition. How can you study math when you believe that Mother Earth is going to blow up before you ever make it out of college?Dayum people!! Demonizing the source isn't going to work here. Now, I don't have blind faith that everything's great and we should personally and collectively do NOTHING at all to help the planet....but I sure as ***** don't have blind faith in computer models and these scientists conforming to an agenda either. What we learn here might be substantial...and if it IS, and the little kids are able to breathe again without panicking...give this hacker, or this insider, a Nobel Prize!
I completely agree with you. I am deaf as well. I always get frustrated when youtube videos often fail to include subtitles for me to understand what they were saying. It shouldn't be difficult to make them more accessible to people with hearing disabilities. Also, some people turn off sounds because they don't want to bother other people so subtitles would be very useful for them for this reason.

Wow, great fact. Thanks Rain12913. I learned a new thing today!.
"The Federal Bureau of Investigation told Congress this week that when it comes to cyber crime, terrorist groups like Al Qaeda aren't the sharpest pencils in the cup"From an organization that did not catch on to a military officer on a secure government installation emailing a radical Muslim cleric who was already under surveillance. At least Al Qaeda made it to the cup!

I was with this article most of the time, but I think they completely missed the mark on Memoirs of a Geisha. Just for starters, they are trying to compare modern Western culture with historic Eastern culture. As if the two cultures ever had anything in common. I suppose they had to reach the magical number of seven movies somehow.?
i'm not sure i needed the quotes explained to me like i'm a simpleton. if you know who moe syzlak is, then you don't need a one liner explained in two paragraphs. if you don't know who moe syzlak is, then the jokes will be lost on you anyway, because explaining a joke is completely unfunny. |

Why is it a specific UK woman??? Most women I know DONT dress up to the nines just for regular ***** like going to the shops. Suppose it's the same in America too, women will only wear a ***** load of make up when they go out too the clubs, on a date or going to a meal with their friends etc... So the article specifying the UK is BS, women all around the world try to like nice.

Users need to ask themselves if they are running the safest OS and web browser, are applying updates as they come out, have set up an Internet and/or local firewall, and don not have unnecessary services running. Doing those 4 things at home and at work would go a long way towards insuring public safety. The government cannot do everything if the people are not doing anything.

What if these "star war scientists" discover a cheap, safe, inexhaustible source of power while researching the basic nature of the universe? Wouldn't that solve not only the lack of clean water for everyone, but many other problems as well? Of course it would. Basic research is necessary because it is the root for solving all of our problems in the material world. And it might lead to solving many of the problems that are not material. For instance, many wars occur because of a lack of food, water, or energy. Or the fear of losing them. |
