At least when Jews do it, they have sex with female prostitutes.
Avatar looks like it will be bad ass... in 3d, otherwise I saw the trailer and was underwhelmed as were most people that saw it at home on their computer screens. So I'm guessing by the time it comes out there will be two camps those that thought it was pretty cool and those that want their money back. Fortunately for me we have like 4 theaters around here with 3d so it wont matter. But it does pose the question of how good a film can be if you have to roll out a new technology worth hundreds of millions of dollars to make it worth watching

To be honest, a lot of the web standards they don't support so well they either started or had a feature that did the same thing already (@font-face, XMLHttpRequest, VML, CSS 2D positioning, Ajax, etc).I'm not trying to justify how slow Microsoft is (or how proprietary they are), but it's a little messed up that they don't get some credit here. Historically it's repeatedly been, Microsoft creating it or doing it first, then Netscape, the W3C, Mozilla, Apple, Google or Opera taking it and improving it.Even down to the desktop shortcut feature that Chrome has, Safari was supposed to get and Mozilla is working on, is and has been featured in IE for a while. Yes, IE6 sucks, but man it's way better than having to deal with Netscape or IE4-5 back then.?

anyone saying to just install the browser is an idiot, missing the point, and completely wrong but if you want to continue believing your misconceptions who am I to stop you? I guess I can agree that the use is limited right now virtualized but your not really suppose to be using it right now anyways unless your a developer.

I'm sorry, you're still not making the jump between a communication and a communication of language. Animals communicate in entirely mechanistic ways, in (and this is the key bit) reaction to the world around them. The whole sum of what can be expressed does not grow for animals, so they are limited as to the things they can say, and that which they can understand. Language, on the other hand, is a tool of the mind. It is used to add layers on top of communication; to encode large concepts into bits of standardized communication. Humans hold a chief monopoly on this ability. When your sheep bleats it can be thought of simply saying one letter of the alphabet, and those surrounding sheep have in their heads the corresponding instinctual recognition of this specific repeatable "letter". They lack the capacity to allow into their communication a new letter. They are acting no differently than bacteria communicating with one another via chemicals, releasing a key which will only open one lock.Language breaks the whole lock and opens the door between two minds. It is a method of which the only construction any linguist has found, exists in human minds. It is important to distinguish the process of language as an idea, otherwise you break the dichotomy of conscious humans and unconscious animals. Although I'm suspecting even as I write this, that you are from a school of thought which might grant ideas to animals, which would certainly explain the incongruity between our individual concepts of language. Regardless, thanks for making me defend the text book for a change, I never ran the statement "animals do not posses language" through my own logic, and had thus prior accepted it as truth because the professor made it a point to address.

I think what you're referring to is a limitation of the seven-layer OSI reference model. The verbage used in explaining these outages is most likely referring to a VLAN database issue in a network switch (Cisco, most likely), which the application has no clue about. I think Cisco's working on technologies which are more "application-aware," but that's only one side of the coin - are application developers working on apps that are "network-aware"? And if so, what sort of network security and processor-usage headaches would that cause? |
