| As an Englishman, let me enlighten you. Most good decent Brits consider the monarchy to be a throwback to a less enlightened age, they spend more that they bring in by tourism and generally belong in the history book and nowhere else. |

Socialism would imply the ownership of the means of production by the people or government. Despite the ignorant or outright misleading cries of conservatives, nothing in the healthcare proposals give the means of production (insurance companies and healthcare provides) over to the federal government. You can cry wolf all you want, but there is nothing in this bill that will put a single private insurer out of business. Not the public option, and certainly not the mandate and subsidies. Stop trying to convince people there is a boogeyman hiding in the closet - it isn't there. This bill seeks to solve the already existing redistribution problem: we already pay for medical attention to those that do not have health insurance. Right now, the system is set up so that you can free-ride. You can refuse to purchase insurance, then roll into a hospital and demand emergency attention, with the cost passed on to those of us who purchase insurance. This proposal seeks to require everyone to carry insurance. It's not like you're never going to get sick, why shouldn't you have to pay for it? It does subsidize the lower- and middle- class purchasers (familes making under $88k/years - hardly a redistribution to the poor), but this REPLACES the previous redistribution of costs from everyone who pays for insurance (including the middle class), to those who make over $250k per year, HELPING out the middle class. It also closes the inefficiency of denying preventative care to those who did not have coverage. There is a great deal of money to be saved by getting someone into the doctor early to avoid a potentially expensive emergency room trip later on, this proposal ensures that everyone can take advantage of preventative care.Shifting the burden off of the middle class by eliminating free-riders out of the system is the clearest benefit of this bill. It is about time that we looked at policies that aided the working class, not the leisure class.Yes, they will be held accountable...if they fail to fix the system that results in the highest per-person healthcare coverage system in the world. The proposed healthcare bill IS that solution, and needs to pass. I can not be victim to partisan obstructionism to score political points.
yeah i mute it in DOW 2, sounds like crap

moonwalk? I thought it was something else. You see, Michael Jackson stood on stage wearing one glove singing "Beat It." So I figured the true purpose of the glove had to do with "Beat It".
Yes, it was Belgium that was put up for sale on Ebayhttp://media.photobucket.com/image/belgium%20for%2 ...!

hong kong is relatively free from china's rule, and the executive officer that they appointed (fixed election) was one who worked under the british government. you really need to find out more before you try to criticize the chinese government, because hong kong is very separate from china in many ways. 1. there are border patrols guarding the hong kong and chinese border and they need visas to come down, and if they stay it's illegal, and they can be deported.2. hong kong uses common law, and documents are written in english.3. hong kong has its own legislative council, with many of them being elected by the people (they should all be in my opinion)4. china is responsible for hong kong's defense. you can't see chinese troops, there are only hong kong's own policemen patrolling.5. we have our own monetary authority6. our market is one of the freest in the world, and so as the guy below me says, the plans are cheap because there's a lot of competition, unlike china's enforcement of their policies on businesses.have you ever been to hong kong? i'm sick and tired of people always criticizing places left and right without proper information. try to use google for one thing, and even hong kong's wikipedia article will tell you something about it. people ARE outraged in hong kong, it's just that the democratic parties have to get benefits for these people with huge barriers in the way, mainly the rich and the powerful, and that's very similar to america in the way that the rich want to keep their money and the poor need help.if you ever go to hong kong, you'll find that a LOT of people give to charities, and they ARE compassionate. honestly a lot of old principles that people live by that were destroyed by communism are still very much alive in hong kong, it's just that there are always barriers to change, and in this particular case people are trying to solve these problems in hong kong without antagonizing the rich or making the place less attractive for investments.

Seriously though, if women in the UK on average live longer than men, they can't be being too badly damaged in comparison.
