He's encouraging people to think with an export mindset. There's nothing moronic about that; he wasn't decreeing anything.

There are so many problems with this moronic article.1.There are only 2 active android versions right now. 1.6 Donut and 2.0 Eclair. If the g1 can't get the 2.0 update than that means it's probably going to fade away leaving only 2.0(although it is suggested that the G1 will probably get the 2.0 update). These are update versions. I can see why the author might be confused if he were an iphone owner since he'd have to replace his phone to get all the newest features.2.The OS itself help with the resolution issue and it really is a stupid complaint. Setting a resolution in most apps is a non issue, just like it is on a desktop OS.3.So android will run on different hardware? Isn't that what windows does? Windows seems pretty healthy right now.?

This is a great point. Glass is expensive. Even the stock lens is 24-105 f4 and costs around $1000. It's pretty slow, so it tosses aside a lot of the DOF you get from having a 'wide open' lens AND a lot of the low-light awesomeness.I just bought the 5D body alone, and supplemented it with a 20, 50, and 85mm f1.8 set of primes. Got my cinema set for under a grand. Not TOO bad, and really sharp around f2.2.

I don't know if I agree with that, if you're posting your photos to sites like istockphoto, and they're good, they can bring in some decent income. The freelance photo market has changed, that is for sure.
