| Also, while I'm on this rant: I hate to see cops speeding anytime. I live in a small town with hardly any crime. If there's a medical emergency, you need an ambulance. If there's a fire, you need the fire dept. If there's a car crash, you need the fire dept and ambulance. The police really don't need to rush anywhere unless there's an active bank robbery or someone with a gun shooting at people. I see cops racing down the road with their lights on only to see them parked behind another cop that pulled someone over. It's all ***** games with those *****, they're more of a danger to this town than they are any help. |

What about #11 (the entire world) games blamed for violence by parents who need a scapegoat for lazy parenting.
dude, it's Friday afternoon, I've exhausted my weekly supply of deep thoughts and expert opinion.

This is partly true, except you are wrong about swine flu, it doesn't kill "the weak ones", it does the exact opposite. It's defining quality is that UNLIKE seasonal flu, it doesn't push sick people over the edge, but some times it kills completely healthy people. Fast.Another detail you fail to mention, is the evolutionary scenario where the genetic property that makes a virus dangerous, is the same that makes it spreadable. This is the "general case" with influenzas; they are dangerous to humans by default, because they infect our vital respiratory systems, which then keeps ejecting viral "spores" all day long. If swine flu finds a more extreme version of this, spreadable+dangerous, it becomes evolutionarily successful, AND deadly..

Oh I'm sure they'll be really popular for a little while until someone figures out how to hack them and suddenly the place on your chest that was featuring a giant eagle clutching a crucifix has now become a showcase for gay porn. "Illustrated Man" indeed. |

I think he is too diplomatic and weak as a policy implementer, but he has done nothing that would make me dislike him. He would probably have grown into the greatest senator that ever was, but that style does not transition well to the executive. I hope he can stop trying to be liked by everyone and demand action. He is doing what he said he was going to do during his campaign, and now people are starting to have second thoughts about it. I cannot blame Obama for the country not thinking things through when they voted for him. Health care reform, withdrawal from Iraq, emphasis on Afghanistan, and Keynesian investments for economic stimulus - didn't people WANT him to do all of this before?

So Apple leads with lawyers, a small developer asks for personal intervention, and the response is basically "kiss my ass?"This sounds like an ordinary day at the office for Apple.. |
